# How Tripshare's Fees Work

[Tripshare](http://usetripshare.com) charges a **15% platform fee** on every booking, deducted from the driver's payout. Passengers always pay exactly the price shown — no booking fees, no markups, no surprises at checkout.

## Driver payout fee

Drivers are charged a 15% fee which is automatically deducted from the payout amount. When posting a trip, drivers can see approximately how much they will receive under the price field after entering a price.

For example, if a driver posts a seat for $30, the passenger pays $30 and the driver receives $25.50 after the platform fee.

## Passenger booking fee

There is no passenger booking fee. Passengers always pay exactly the price shown on the trip card.

For example, if a driver posts a seat for $30, the passenger pays $30.
